Banned Books Week - The Grapes of Wrath

The Grapes of Wrath is an important book to me because it humanizes economic despair in a powerful way. In its time, the book was controversial because it gave voice to a population that had been dehumanized and demonized. In other notes, I don't think I have ever liked or respected a character quite like Preacher Casy.
